Sunshine leads to honey — and honey leads to mead.
After a spell of beautiful warm weather and strong forage conditions, we are delighted to complete our first 2026 honey harvest from our Enniskerry apiary. The colonies were extremely active today, taking full advantage of the sunshine and excellent nectar flow.
Today’s temperature reached 25°C, creating ideal flying and foraging conditions for the bees.
It is always a special moment to see the results of weeks of activity across the apiary — and another reminder of the importance of pollinators, biodiversity, sustainable beekeeping, and the journey from hive to handcrafted Irish mead.
