This July, Inishturk Island will host what is believed to be Ireland’s first public mead-making experience, giving visitors the chance to create and take home their own one-gallon (4.5 litre) batch of traditional mead honey wine. 

Led by beekeeper and mead maker Sean O’Connor, founder of the Inishturk Native Irish Honey Bee Sanctuary and Wild Atlantic Mead, this immersive experience combines Irish heritage, island culture, honey tasting, fermentation science and hands-on mead making.
